Family Fun with Lunch
The Wholesome Charity are providing families a place to play during school holidays at various halls: On a Friday at the Dourdan Pavilion at the Recreation Ground, Great Dunmow and on a Thursday at Thaxted Church Hall, Margaret Street, Thaxted. There will be activities in which children can participate while parents, although taking responsibility, can also enjoy refreshments and a natter. Lunch is provided for all the family who attend.
We are able to offer parents living in the south of Uttlesford, from Thaxted to The Rodings, some light relief over the school holidays, providing a venue for mums and dads to bring their children for play and activities while also providing the family a lunch in a social setting. Lunch will be freshly cooked and tailored to the tastes of young people who need the extra energy, as while they will not sitting at school desks, they will be running, jumping and generally using up energy playing with siblings and friends and need to be topped up with food.
Venues change as there is pressure on booking halls so please make sure you know where to come. There will be organised games and craft materials for those children who want to be quieter.

How are services delivered?
Families who have exhausted their own resources for entertaining the children and want to bring the children out to socialise with others.
Families will need to register so we know how many people to cater for.
The hall is booked for 4 hours, for the two hours that families will be present, and an hour either side to allow for setting up and breaking down. There will be officers of the Charity present along with several volunteers. Lunch will be cooked on site. 1 Life and other childrens entertainment will be available to keep the children busy. Families will need to register so we know how many people to cater for. This service is free at the point of delivery.
