English Language Lessons

We are pleased to offer free English language lessons for adults arriving from Ukraine and other countries who want to develop their use of English as a second language. The purpose of the course is to allow quick integration and interaction, so the focus is on oral work. Instructors are mainly qualified teachers and all are volunteering to help refugees quickly become part of the community.

Further info

If you would like some help in developing conversational English as a second language, the Saffron Walden English Lessons team are here to help.  The classes are free to attend, but learners are asked to bring their own paper and pens so they can take notes of what they learn.

There are two levels each session: Elementary and Intermediate.  Learners can choose to come to one or two days each week but it is recommended to come to both classes, as lessons carry on from the Tuesday to the Thursday.  No registration or payment required, just turn up on the day. (If it's your first time do check by contacting us at the email address shown - lessons take place during school term time but occasionally this may very.)

Who can use this service?

All adult refugees.

How are services delivered?

In person, every Tuesday and Thursday 6pm - 7pm during school term time. (If it's your first time contact us to check as occasionally this may vary.)
