British Red Cross: Wheelchair Hire

The British Red Cross provides wheelchair hire services across the UK. We offer comfortable, safe, and reliable manual wheelchairs whether you’re looking for self-propelled or transit wheelchairs. The wheelchairs are suitable for anyone over the age of 5 and are available in a wide range of sizes, with fitted footrests as standard and free accessories such as leg elevators, cushions, and stump supports available to improve your comfort - subject to availability.

Wheelchair hire costs £22 per week.
Cost of delivery and return is £25 total.

Applicants must have an email address when contacting the British Red Cross.

Please also be aware the recipient of a wheelchair must be able to get the sheelchair in and out of the box themselves, or be accompanied by someone who can on the day of delivery and return.

British Red Cross is no longer able to accept equipment donations. Please contact a local Red Cross shop to see if they can accept mobility equipment donations.
